近代イスラーム経済学国際会議は、イスラーム経済学者たちの国際的な議論のアリーナとして、1976年にサウディアラビアのマッカで第１回会議が開催された。その後、節目ごとに開催され、2020年に12回目の開催を迎えた。国際イスラーム経済学会（International Association for Islamic Economics, IAIE）は、この会議が母体となって1984年に設立された。
