Humans have a “mosaic” of ape features

On the one hand, the difference in body size between the sexes in humans is small, and male humans form strong coalitions. These traits are similar to those of chimpanzees. On the other hand, female humans, like female gorillas and orangutans, do not exhibit sexual swelling. Long-term relationships between the sexes and paternal care are also common to both humans and gorillas. Moreover, the lactational period of humans is shorter than any other ape, but humans take the longest time to become adults.
