Sapiens and Neanderthal

Like the Neanderthals, the Sapiens originally lived in small groups, and probably did not have much need to communicate information using symbols, but used musical communication in “resonance groups.”

However, their life cycle strategy entailed high fecundity, increasing the population, and as the cold, dry climate led people to travel widely to seek food, opportunities to contact other populations began to increase.

It is thought, therefore, that the importance of talking using symbols and words increased, and that the difference in their communication abilities caused the Neanderthal population to gradually decrease. The Sapiens had the benefit of being able to move frequently, creating a larger and more complex society. Language promoted the exchange of people and objects, and brought about technological innovation.
