Traveling methods and the shape of limbs and feet

Small strepsirrhines have claws, and travel in trees by using them to hang on branches and trunks. Larger species have flat nails like humans, and travel between trees by grasping branches. Some of largest species, such as gorillas, are adapted for walking on the ground: the length of their forelimbs and hindlimbs are similar; and the shape of their forefeet and hindfeet are adapted for ground locomotion.
