Current primates, ancient primates

Primates are now mostly distributed in and around the tropical rainforests. Japanese macaques are one of the extreme exceptions that live in snowy areas. However, primate fossils are found in wider areas, including North America and Europe. What this means is that the climate of the earth was once warmer climate than it is today, and that rainforests once extended over wider areas.
