Reciprocal behavior

Reciprocity is the act of two parties mutually rewarding each other.

Reciprocal behavior is frequently seen among great apes. Since third parties often intervene in conflicts, great apes usually pay attention to their relationships with potential supporters. Companions are also expected to share food and help with grooming.
