Comparison of social structures of Japanese macaques

How different were their social structures?  First of all, the macaque population density on Yakushima was twice that of those on Kinkazan. Assuming that this is due to the high abundance of food resources on Yakushima, the group size would also be expected to be larger on Yakushima. However, the Yakushima macaques form smaller groups than those on Kinkazan. In addition, the sex composition of the group is more male-biased on Yakushima than it is on Kinkazan.
