Physical Perspective

Merleau-Ponty brought a physical perspective to phenomenology.

Merleau brought a phenomenological perspective to the problem of how to conceptualize the body that had continued to be asked since Bergson's image theory. It is a question of how the body is alive.

The body is not something that exists as a thing, but as a consciousness. The phenomenological question of how consciousness is awoken when the body is conscious, is explored in his main book, Phenomenology of Perception.
